Aiming at the problems of large carbon emissions from highway transportation construction, the need to improve the research and development level of new materials and technologies for low-carbon and carbon-reducing construction and maintenance, and the urgent need to improve the carbon emission measurement and calculation system in the whole life cycle, the planning and consulting work of thematic projects such as green and smart highway construction scheme and near zero carbon highway demonstration project is carried out by relying on major highway infrastructure construction projects.
Main Work Undertaken
JSTI focuses on low-carbon materials, low-carbon construction, low-carbon operation, road construction and low-carbon development implementation road map of highway construction, carbon emission measurement and calculation method of international integration and other technical difficulties, so as to provide quantitative basis, theoretical support and practical engineering reference for China’s transportation industry to realize the “double carbon” target as soon as possible.

Achievements
In February 2023, won the “Lichun Award” of 2022-2023 Highway Traffic Quality Project Award.
This project has won a number of honorary titles such as the Green Demonstration Highway of the Ministry of Transport, the first batch of provincial quality engineering demonstration projects in Jiangsu Province, the Jiangsu Transportation Smart Highway Demonstration Project, the Top Ten Projects of the Provincial Common National and Provincial Trunk Highway Construction Projects, the Provincial Demonstration Project of “Safe Construction Site” Construction Activity of Jiangsu Highway and Water Transportation Project, and the first batch of “Green Transportation” Practice Innovation Project of China Association for Research and Promotion of Ecological Civilization.
